Release of Latest version of Optrak4

Hertford, England: Optrak Distribution Software Limited, a leading supplier of vehicle routing software, has announced the release of the latest version of its award winning solution for the fuel and lubricants industry. With new features specifically aimed at reducing costs and increasing efficiency, the Optrak solution is well positioned to deliver substantial benefits to its customers.

With continued volatility in the price of oil, there is an increased focus on fuel and lubricants companies to secure extra value within other areas of their organisation. This has thrown a new spotlight on optimiszing the supply chain and a key element of this is the planning, scheduling and loading of deliveries for the end customer.

The newest version of Optrak, which is based on feedback and work with the leading companies in the fuel and lubricants industry, features a number of unique enhancements:

  • True separate scheduling of tractors and trailers: this allows for greater flexibility in planning and scheduling the available resources (drivers, tractors and trailer units).

  • Managing compartment flushing and cleaning by family of products and pump contamination by family of products: this minimises the number of compartment washes and eliminates cross grade contamination.

  • Compartment loading can take account the vehicle axle weight limits to ensure that vehicles are not loaded illegally and also that off-loading operations (e.g. emptying the rear compartment) do not render the loads illegal.

Tim Pigden, Managing Director, Optrak, commented, "We are seeing more emphasis on cutting costs and increasing supply chain efficiency and the latest version of Optrak can help companies to achieve these twin aims while gaining increased control over their operations. Using years of experience gained from working with major oil and petroleum companies, we have enhanced our vehicle routing solution to enable companies to carry out more accurate planning, routing and loading."

Optrak is the established sector leader in providing routing and scheduling solutions to the oil and petroleum industry and clients include BP Castrol, Reynolds Logistics, Fuchs Lubricants and TotalFinaElf. Optrak can be quickly and easily customised - a key strength that is invaluable in enabling the unique distribution requirements for the petroleum industry to be accurately modelled for optimum performance.
